چکیده
Objective: The objective of this study was to demonstrate morphological anatomical variations the peroneus tertius muscle which may have important clinical and surgical implications. Materials methods: Fifty four specimens anterior compartment leg were dissected routinely according undergraduate course examined for above muscles anatomy further defined using appropriate dissection methods. Results: A wide variation found with regard morphology extensor digitorum longus considerable differences between legs same cadaver. When considering deviating considerably from normal structure, a distal attachment in two revealed that addition shaft fifth metatarsal, an additional slip inserted expansion toe. It apparently replaced fourth tendon longus, only had three divisions these specimens. Seventeen single belly giving rise 5 tendons usual attachments as stated below. Absence noted one specimen. Conclusion: structure vary substantially individual individual, inclusive existing left right lower limbs

Absence of the peroneus tertius muscle: cadaveric study with clinical considerations.
Peroneus tertius (PT) is a muscle of the anterior compartment of the leg. The PT muscle originates from the anterior surface of the fibula and the interosseous membrane and inserts into the medial side of the dorsal region of the fifth metatarsal bone. During routine dissection, we observed the absence of PT on the left lower limb of a cadaver. Usually, the PT is involved in dorsiflexion and ev...
متن کاملFibularis Tertius Muscle: Cadaveric Study in Indians
Introduction: Fibularis tertius muscle (FTM) is a small, unipennate muscle of the anterior compartment of the leg which is peculiar to human [1]. Usually FTM is considered as a part of the extensor digitorum longus (EDL) muscle which arises Background: Fibularis tertius is a small, unipennate muscle of the anterior compartment of the leg which is peculiar to human. It is highly variable muscle....

UNLABELLED The apparently simple human function of closing the hand to grasp an object or opening the palm to release it are in reality tasks of considerable mechanical complexity requiring the contraction of many individual muscles Lumbricals are important part of intrinsic musculature of hand. Though several deviations from normal have been described in standard textbooks of anatomy, a review...
متن کاملRupture of the peroneus tertius tendon in 27 horses.
The purpose of the study was to identify factors influencing the outcome and prognosis of rupture of the tendon of the peroneus tertius muscle in 27 horses. Information on history, physical examination findings, diagnosis, treatment, and final outcome was summarized from medical records. Long-term follow-up information on horses was obtained by telephone survey. A stepwise logistic regression m...
متن کاملPower developed by motor units of the peroneus tertius muscle of the cat.
The mechanical properties of motor units have been extensively studied under isometric conditions. Under dynamic conditions, the relationship between the force developed by single motor units and the muscle shortening velocity was determined for relatively high frequencies of activation. However, the interaction between the force-shortening velocity relation and the force-rate of activation rel...
